HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 7635-1978 - Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 7084/Change: Zone Case No. 1875-C; Lot 7 - 03/23/1978LGB:bsb ORDINANCE NO. 7635 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1875-C; CHANGE LOT 7, LESS THE NORTH 590 1 THEREOF, COMMANDERS ADDITION, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-1 SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO Ff:-•1:zoNING DISTRICT; CHANGE THE NORTH 5901 OF LOT 7, COMMANDERS ADDITION, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-1 SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO R-2 ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning districts as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Pla'nning and Zoning Conmission for its recommendation which was received by the City Council and, ·after due consideration, the City Council finds that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out wil I be in the public interest; and, . WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving noti'ces in compliance with Section 26 of Ordinance No. 7084, as well as n'otices provided by Article 1011f, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche- Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearin·g according to said notice wa·s duly held in the City Council Room on the s·econd floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons ·appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the· manner hereinafter set forth in ·the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first readi_ng hereof; NOW THEREFORE: · BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoni~g Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, towit: ZONE CASE NO. 1875-C A. Change Lot 7,11ess the North 590.00 feet thereof, Collillanders Add.ition, Lubbock County, Texas ;~from R-1 Specific Use Permit to R-·1 zoni_ng district. B. Change the North 590.00 feet of Lot 7, Commanders Addition, Lubbock County, Texas, to R-2 -zoning dist";-ict, -· SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewfth. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase ' or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. GB:yb SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica- tion of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
