HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 8246-1981 - Amending Ordinance 7084 Amending Sections 16 And 17 - 09/24/1981II SMH:js ORDINANCE NO. 8246 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7084, CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, (BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE), BY AMENDING SECTIONS 16 AND 17 THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR GAME ROOMS (PINBALL MACHINES AND VIDEO GAME MACHINES ONLY) AS CONDITIONAL USES IN C-2 and C-3 ZONES; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUB- LICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council has found that the changes indicated below would be in the best interest and safety of the Citizens of the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION l. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 of the City of Lubbock (being the Zoning Ordinance), be and is hereby amended by adding Section 16.4-5, 16.4-5-1 and 16.4-5-2 as follows: "16.4-5 Game Room (pinball machines and video game machines only) 16.4-5-1 A site plan shall be submitted with the application showing thefollowing: a. Area within an existing building or location or separate building to be set aside for the game room b. Required parking c. Hours of operation d. Maximum. mnuber of machines e. Type and extent of security. 16.4-5-2 All game rooms shall obtain a game room permit prior to occupy- ing the building." SECTION 2. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 of the City of Lubbock (being the Zoning Ordinance), be and is hereby amended by adding Section 17.4-5, 17.4-5-1 and 17.4-5-2 as follows: "17.4-5 Game Room (pinball machines and video game machines only) 17.4-5-1 A site plan shall be submitted with the application showing the following: a. Area within an existing building or location or separate building to be set aside for the game room b. Required parking c. Hours of operation d. Maximum number of machines e. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of the Ordinance shall not be effected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
