HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 7603-1978 - Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 7084 - 01/26/1978• LGB:bsb ORDINANCE NO. 7603 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 2175; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 26, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM T TO R-1 ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 26, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM T TO R-2 ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 26, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM T TO A-2 ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 26, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-1 TO A-2 ZONING DISTRICT, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 26, BLOCK E-2 LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-1 TO R-2 ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 26, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-1 TO R-2 ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning districts as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation which was received by the City Council and, after due consideration, the City Council finds that making the proposed changesashereinafter set out will be in the public interest and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices · in compliance with ~ection 26 of Ordinance No. 7084, as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes~ amended in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Horning Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall~ Lubbock, Texas~ at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be ~n the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 2175 1. Change a tract of land out of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas from "Tu zone district to R-1 zone district. This tract is further described by metes and bounds as follO't-lS: BEGINNING from a point which is approximately 660.00 feet South of the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South an approximate distance of 663.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 1982.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 153.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 905.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 155.00 feet; THENCE l-lest an approximate distance of 40.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 306.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 148.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 49.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 871.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. •' . . · LGB:bsb 2. This tract is further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING from a point which is approximately 660.00 feet South and 871.00 feet East of the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South an approximate distance of 49.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 148.00 feet; THENCE South an approximate distance of 306.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 40.00 feet; THENCE South an approximate distance of 155.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 905.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 155.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 795.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance <5f 355.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 298.00 feet· to the POINT OF BEGINNING. 3. Change a tract of land out of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas from "T" zone district to "A-2" zone district. This tract is further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING from a point which is approximately 660.00 feet South and 1189.00 feet East of the .Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter : of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; t THENCE South an approximate distance of 355.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 615.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance .of 355.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 615.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. 4. Ch~nge a tract of land out of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas from R-1 zone district to A-2 zone district. This tract is further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING from a point which is approximately 1189.00 feet East of the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South an approximate distance of 660.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 615.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 660.00 feet; THE~CE West an approximate distance of 615.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING • . Change a tract of land out of Section 26, Bloc~ E-2, Lubbock County, Texas from R-1 zone district to R-2 zone district. This tract is further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING from a point which is approximately 1015.00 feet South and 1982.00 feet East of the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South an approximate distance of 155.00 feet; THENCE East an approximate distance of 660.00 feet; THENCE North an approximate distance of 155.00 feet; THENCE West an approximate distance of 660.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zon~ng district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance here- with. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional ·or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
