ORDINANCE NO. S716 -------
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK BY AMENDING SECTION 14-A. l-6 THEREOF PROVIDING
FOR PRIVATE CLUBS OR TEENAGE CLUBS; AMENDING SECTION 14-A. 1-8
THEREOF PROVIDING FOR SHOPPING CENTERS; AMENDING SECTION 14-A. 1-9
PROVIDING FOR APARTMENTS OR TOWNHOUSES; AMENDING SECTION 14-A. 1-1
PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC\STABLES; AMENDING SECTION 14-A.1-12 PROVIDING
FOR GREENHOUSES; AMENDING SECTION 14-A.1-13 PROVIDING FOR MOTELS;
AMENDING SECTION 14-A. 1-16 PROVIDING FOR SANITARIUMS; PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds, after all notices have been given and
~arings held as provided by law, that it is in the best interest of the citizens of
the City of Lubbock to make the change in the zoning law as hereinafter set
forth, NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 14-A, 1-6 of Zoning Ordinance No, 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-A. 1-6 Commercial Private Clubs# or Teenage
Clubs in the 11C-311 District or on a site of three (3) acres
or more, at the time of application, in any district. "
SECTION 2. THAT Section 14-A, 1-8 of Zoning Ordinance No, 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
11Section 14-A. 1-8. Shopping centers or related commercial
developments on a site of three {3) acres or more, at the time
of application, in any district. 11
SECTION 3. THAT Section 14-A. 1-9 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as, fol_lows-:
"Section 14-A. 1-9 Private apartment or Row Dwelling or Townhouse
projects on a site of two and one-half {2½) acres or more, at the
time of application, in any district. Row Dwelling or Townhouse pr
j~t~ 1i,ha].l_b~ platte_d designating individual lots and common
ownership areas. Each lot shall have direct access to a dedicated
alley or easement with a minimum twenty (20) foot width. 11

SECTION 4. THAT Section 14-A. 1-11 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-A. 1-11 Public Stables or riding academies on a site
of ten (10) acres or more at the time of application, in any district/

SECTION 5. THAT Section 14-A. 1-12 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-A. 1-12 Greenhouse or plant nurseries on a site
of three (3) acres or mo.re at the time of application, in any
district. 11
SECTION 6. THAT Section 14-A.1-13 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-A. 1-13 Motels and related uses of a site of
five (5) acres or more, at the time of application, in any
district. 11
SECTION 7. THAT Section 14-A. 1-16 of Zoning Ordinance No, 1695 of the
City of Lubbock BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-A. 1-16 Sanitarium on a site of ten (10) acres
or more, at the time of application, in any district, 11
SECTION 8. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 9, THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descripti/ve caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method
provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
