HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 5662-1969 - Amending Zoning Ordinance #5633 By Changing Off-Street Parking In The C-2A - 05/22/1969ORDINANCE NO. --.::..;56=6=2 __ AN ORDINANCE A:MENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 5633, WHICH AMEND ED ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK BY CHANGING OFF-STREET PARKING IN THE "C-2A" ZONING DISTRICT BY CORRECTING SAID ORDINANCE TO REFLECT THE ACTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL. WHEREAS, after all conditions precedent had been complied with, the City Council heretofore held a public hearing on proposed amendments to Zoning Ordi- nance No. 1695 which would change the regulations governing off-street parking in the "C-2A" Zoning District; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after said hearing, determined it would be in the public interest to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 to reflect such text change; an WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 5633, as published, did not reflect, in a clear marmer, the action and intent of the City Council and a clarification or correction is now necessary; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Section 1 of Zoning Ordinance No, 5633 BE and is hereby amended to correctly reflect the action of the City Council and the corrected wc;Q-d- ing shall read as follows: 11Section 1. THAT the third paragraph of Section 10A,5 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of Lubbock, BE and is hereby amended to read as follows: 11When more than one class of use occupies a single building or premises the total number of parking spaces required shall equal the sum of the requirements for each of those uses determined separately. When any previously existing building within this district is changed in use or the floor area increased 2 5o/o or more above the original area, off-street parking shall be provided as required in this section. All parking space required by the terms of this district shall be located on the same lot as the building or use served, except when new or additional off-street par ing is required by virtue of a change or enlargement of the use, such additional spaces may be provided within this district but not more than 200 feet from the use being served. Any lighting of such parking areas shall be so designed as to not cast any glare on adjacent residential pro- perty in the area. Off-street parking areas, including number of space and means of ingress and egress, shall be approved by the City Traffic Engineer under the terms of this district and the City's Driveway Ordinance." SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordi- nance, the correction ordered m Section 1 hereinabove shall be made to Zoning Ordinance No. 5633 in accordance herewith.
