Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance - 5644-1969 - Amending Ordinance #4725 (Being The Building Code) - 04/10/1969oo--1o-w oLf-;?~-u9 ORDINANCE NO. 5644 ----- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4725, OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK1 TEXAS1 (BEING THE BUILDING CODE)1 BY ADDING A NEW SUB- SECTION (d) TO SECTION 1305 THEREOF TO PROVIDE VENTING TO THE OUTSIDE ATMOSPHERE OF ANY COOKING FACILITY; ADDING A NEW SUB- SECTION (e) TO SECTION 1405 THEREOF TO PROVIDE VENTING TO THE OUTSIDE ATMOSPHERE OF ANY COOKING FACILITY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the safety and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Lubbock would be best protected by changing the venting of cooking facilities within the City of Lubbock, and WHEREAS. such safety measures have been recommended by the Board of Appeals, NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 4725, being the Building Code of the City of Lubbock, BE and is hereby amended by adding a new sub-section (d) to Section 1305 of Chapter 13 thereof, which shall read as follows: (d) Ventilation of cooking facilities. All exhausting systems over any cooking facilities shall not terminate in an attic or any confined space, but shall continue through the roof to the outside atmosphere. SECTION 2. THAT Ordinance No. 4725, being the Building Code of the City of Lubbock, BE and is hereby amended by adding a new sub-seetion (e) to Section 1405 of Chapter 14 thereof, which shall read as follows: ~ (e) Ventilation of cooking facilities. All exhausting systems over any cooking facilities shall not terminate in an attic or any confined space, but shall continue through the roof to the outside atmosphere. SECTION 3. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, o word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason1 the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authccrized to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
