CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1590: CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SEC- TION 9, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY1 TEXAS, FROM AN "R ... l" TO AN "A ... l ZONING DISTRICT! PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUB LICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has een duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda- ion, which was received by the City Council and~ after due consideration~ the City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the ublic interest; and> WHEREAS, all conditiotJ.s precedent required by law for a valid amendment to he Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving otices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices pro ided by Article 1011f, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes~ amended in 1961, and otice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fif- een (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on su roposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held · the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at hich time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, i as by the City Council determined that it would be in the· public interest, due to hanged conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in t anner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance havm een introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: · E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the OffiGial Zoning Map BE and he same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 1590 Change a tract of land out of Section 9, Block E-2; Lubbock County, Texas, from an "R-1" to an "A-111 Zoning District. Property is further described by metes and bounds toto~Wit: THE West i of the South i of the Northeast t of Section 911 Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, SAVE AND EXCEPT that certain 19.374 acre tract owned by the City of Lubbock~~ Texas, said excepted tract being described as follows to .. wit: BEGINNING at a point the Southeast corner of the Southwest! of the NE i of Section 9, Block E .. 2, Lubbock County, Texas~ said point being also at the center of the intersection of Salem Avenue and 58th Street1 Lubbock County, Texas. THENCE West a distance of 858.2 feet to a point; THENCE North 10 o 1 '2 9'' West~ 355.8 feet to a point; THENCE North 14° 53' 5911 East 456.1 feet to a point; THENCE North 56° 38' 32" East 433.7 feet to a point; THENCE North 87° 57' 29" East 436.7 feet to a point; THENCE South 965 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinan said lots1 tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed o the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance erewith. SECTION 3. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or ord of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the emainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica- tion of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided y law.
