HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 5598-1969 - Amending Zoning Ordinance #1695 And The Lubbock Map For Changes: Zone Case #1583 - 01/29/1969KJ:EW .--r~~~~-------=----------------------c=---------==---=----====-=--==-~~~ Ol-zq -l.oq 0..2 -r:o -uq ORDINANCE NO. 559,8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFI- CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1583: CHANGE THE E. 330' OF BLOCK 1, REPLAT OF GRANVILLE JOHNSON ADDITION~ CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM A 11C-3" TO A "C-4'1 ZONING DISTRICT: SUBJECT TO CONDI- TIONS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda- ion, which was received by the City Council and after due consideration, the City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to he Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices pro vided by Article lOllf, Cernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fif- een (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such prQ:pOsed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interes , due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amend d in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinanc having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: . :.- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and t same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 1583 Change the E. 3301 of Block 1, Replat of Granville Johnson Addition, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from a 11C-3 11 to a 11C-4 11 Zoning District. SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: , . ~'That a 6' high, permanent type, solid screening fence be constructed and permanently maintained along the Sputh property line. Said fence shall have no vehic:ular type openings. Pedestrian 11gate openings" shall be per- mitted. Starting at a point 2 5 1 from the East property line, said fence sh be slanted so that it is 2t' in height at the East property line. 11 J·EW SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordin- ance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the Zoning District indicated and the Official Map is amended in accord ance herewith. SECTION 3. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason) the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica- tion of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
