ORDINANCE NO. 1284
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZThTG THE REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS NOS. 11-S-19,
ll-S-21, AND K-12-14; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTThTG ORDDTANCES; AND D~LARING AN
EHERG:ENCY.
WHEREAS, the establishment of loading zones at various locations in
the City of Lubbock is necessary to the public safety and will provide a greater
use of the public streets; and,
~rnEREAS, the City Commission has passed ordinanoes establishing a
parking meter zone and authorizing the placing of meters i n that area,it is
necessary to remove said parking meters; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That Traffic Engineer be, and he hereby is authorized to
cause due removal of parking meter Nos. 11-8-19, ll-8-21 and K-12-14.
SECTION 2. The parking meters authorized to be removed by provision
of Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance, after all money contained in the meters
has been duly checked and accounted for, shall be reconditioned and renumbered
for use at other locations.
S.EX:::TION 3. That part of the prons1.on of any ordinanoe or order in
, conflict with this Ordinance is hereqy repealed.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the publicis use of the streets, the enactment of
this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure there~ creating a public
necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage as provided b,r law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

sioner Carpenter , this Ordinance was passed this ~ ~ of
