ORDINANCE NO. 128,
AN ORDlliANCE ESTABLISHING A BUS LOADrnG ZONE CN THE EAST SIDE OF
AV'mUE "L11 BEGlNNING AT THE EAST-vlEST ALLEY B.E:l'WEElJ MAJN STREET .AND BRQUJ\'/AY
AND EXTENDING NORTH A DISTANCE OF 100 FEET; REPEALING ALL OBDlllANCES IN
CCM'LICT HER.'ElriTTH; AUTHORIZING PADJTlliG OF CURBS; .AND DECLARING AN :EMERGENCY.
~, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic conditions
and bus routes make it imperative immediate changes in the establishment of
bus loading and unloading zones; THEREF'ORE,
BE IT ORDAJNED BY THE CITY COMNISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That a bus loading zone be and the same is hereby
established at the following location:
On the East side of Avenue L, beginning at the east-west
alley between Main Street and Broadway and extending
Nortp a distance of One Hundred Feet (100 1).
SECTICN 2. That part of any ordinance or order in conflict herewith
is hereby repealed.
SECTICN .3. That the Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized am directed
to cause the curbs in the above described zone to be painted and such zone
plainly marked as a loading zone.
S.ECTICN 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment ~f
this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereby creating a public
necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage as provided by law.
