AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEXJTION 1 OF ORDlNANCE NO. 1148 TO DTCLUDE IN
SAID SOOTION AND AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISlflvlENT, ERECTION AND HA INTENANCE OF
MIDHANICAL TRAFFIC CONTROL LIGHTS AT CERTAJN INTERSEC~NS AND CROSSDTGS IN THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK; AND DE'JLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, public necessity, convenience and safety re quire the establish
ment of mechanical traffic control lights at the here inafter named intersections
and crossings because of the increased number of vehicles entering the said inter
sections and crossings and because of the traffic hazard at said intersectigns and
crossings; NO\</, TIIEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SOOTION 1. Section 1 (One) of Ordinance No. 1148 is he:eeby amended to
add and include the following street intersections and other locations;
Avenue U and the Clovis Road
Avenue U and 4th Street
oli ce Dep • SECTION 2. Due to the fact that there is no ordinance authorizing
mechanical traffic control lights at the above named intersections and crossings,
and that the immediate erection of said mechanical~affic control lights is
required to control traffic at said intersections and crossings, creates an
emergency, and that all rules be suspended and that this Ordinan~ become effective
from and after its passage. c AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

Conunissioner Carpenter , the foregoing Ordinance was passed on the
