ORDINANCE NO . 1 277 _
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING REMIVAL OF PARKING METER NO. 11-9-28; REPEALING
ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND DEX)LARING AN EMERGENCY •
l{HEREAS, a loading zone on the north side of Main Street starting at a
point fifty-seven feet (57') West of the north-south alley between Avenue H and
Texas Avenue and extending West a distance of ten feet (lOt) is necessa~ to the
public safety and will provide a greater use of the public street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission has passed ordinances establishing a
parking meter zone and authorizing placing of meters in that area, it is necessary
to remove said parking meters; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TH~ CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
~ECTION 1. That Traffic Engineer be, and he hereqy is authorized to
cause due removal 9f parking meter No. 11-9-28.
SECTION 2. A parking meter authorized to be removed by provision of
Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance~ after all money contained in the meter has
been duly checked and accounted for, shall be reconditioned and renumbered for
use at other locations.
SECTION J. That part of the provision of any ordinance or order in
conflict with this Ordinance is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of this
Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereby creating a public neces-
sity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed 'vith and this Ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage as provided by law.
