AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FREIGHT LOADING ZONES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF
MAIN STREET, STARTING AT A POINT FIFTY-SEVEN FEET (57 1) WEST OF THE NORI'H-SOU'lli
ALLEY BETWEEN Av:ENUE ttH11 AND TEKAS AVENUE AND EXTENDING Wli.ST A DISTANCE OF TEN
FEET (lOt); ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF 2400 BLOCK MAIN STREE'l', STARTnm AT A POINT ONE
HUNDRED Tnl FEET (llO') EAST OF THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BETWE~ COLLIDE AVENUE AND
A'VmUE 11X11 AND EXTENDING EAST A DISTANCE OF SIXTEEN FEET {16'); ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF THE 2400 BLOCK MAIN STREET STARTING AT A POINT SIXTY FEET (60t) EAST OF
THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN AVENUE nxu AND COLLIDE AVENUE AND EXTENDING EAST A
DISTANCE OF FIFTEEN FEET (15'); REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AUTHORIZING PAINTING OF CURBS; AND DIDLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, in the interest of public saf'ety, changed traffic conditions
and business loading and unloading requirements making it imperative immediate
changes in the establishment of freight loading zones; THEREFORE,
. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
S.EnTION 1. That freight loading zones be and the same are hereby
established at the following ~cations:
A. On the north side of Main Street, starting at a point fifty-
seven feet (57') west of the north-south alley between Avenue H
and Texas Avenue and extending west a distance of ten feet (10'),
occupying parking meter space No. 11~9-28.
B. On the south side of 2400 Block Main Street, starting at a point
one hundred ten feet {1101 ) east of the north-south alley
between College Avenue and Avenue X and extending east a distance
or sixteen feet (16').
c. On the south side of 2400 Block Main Street, starting at a point
sixty feet (60') east of the north-south alley between College
Avenue and Avenue X and extending east a distance of sixteen feet
(16').
SECTION 2. That part of any ordinance or order in conflict herewith is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That the Traffic Engineer is here~ authorized and directed
to cause the curbs in the above described zones to be painted and such zones
plainly marked as loading zones.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment or this
Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereb.y creating a public neces-
sity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage as provided by law.
