AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BUILDING 1AND RIGHT-OF.,.WAY
LINES ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF A STREET DESCRIBED SUB-
STANTIALLY AS THE STREET RUNNING E.kSTERLY FROM THE INTER-
SECTION OF 31ST STREET AND MAGNOLIA AVENUE TO THE INTERSECTION
OF 30TH STREET AND QUIRT AVENUE~ PROVIDING FOR SETBACKS
ACCORDING TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661; PROVIDING THAT NO BUILD-
ING OR OTHER STRUCTURE SHALL BE REPAIRED OR PLACED BETWEEN
THE BUILDING LINES EXCEPTING PUBLIC UTILITIES ON PUBLIC PROP-
ERTY BETWEEN BUILDING LINESJ REQUIRING THAT STRUCTURES CON-
FORM TO SUCH BUILDING LINES AND SETBACK PROVISIONS OF ORDINANC
NO. 661, AS AMENDED, WITHIN FIVE (5) YEARS; DEFINING "BUILDING
LINE"; AND AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION OF THIS
ORDINANCE.

I THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That public necessity, convenience and safety in the City of
Lubbock require the extension, opening, widening, construction and improveM
ment of that part of the street hereinafter designated within the building lines
herein established.
SECTION 2. A building or right-of-way line is hereby established on that
part 9f the street running EB.sterly between the intersection of 31st Street and
Magnolia Avenue to the intersection of 30th Street and Quirt Avenue, as follows:
NORTH SIDE: ·BEGINNING at a point 45.27 feet North of the inter-
section of the centerline of Magnolia Avenue and 31st Street in the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County·, Texas, said point being 1095
feet West and 1148. 27 feet North of the Southeast corner of Section
Five (5), Block B, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE North 830 461
East 1101. 5 feet to a point 45.27 feet North of the intersection of
the East line of said Section Five (5), Block B, and the centerline
of 30th Street projected from 'the East, said point being 1267.87
feet North of the Southeast corner of said Section Five (5), Block B,
and to the end of this line; . · . -
SOUTH SIDE: BEGINNING at a point 45. 27 feet South of the inter-
sechon oi the centerlines of Magnolia Avenue and 31st Street in the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said point being 1095 feet
West and 1057.73 feet North of.the Southeast corner of Section Five,

Block B, Lubbock County, Texasj THENCE North 83° 46' East
1101. 5 feet along a line Ninety (90) Feet from and parallel to the
point 45. ?.7 feet South of More-described line, the intersection
of the East line of said Section Five (5), Block B, and the center-
line of 30th Street projected from the East, said point being
1177. 33 feet North of the Southeast corner of said Section Five
(5 ), Block B, and to the end of this line. •
SECTION 3. The term 11building line" as used herein shall be construed
to mean "street-::rright-of way line, 11 and the setback requirements under
Zoning Ord~ance _No. 6~l .sha.ll apply in addition to the right-of-way lines, or
building lines, herein established, it being the intent and purpose of this
Ordinance to preserve all land within the building lines herein established for
ultimate street purposes. .,, ··
SECTION 4. That no building or other structure shall be erected, re-
erected, or substantially repaired, and no new structures or parts thereof
shall be erected or re -erected on that part of the street herein designated
within said lines herein established.
SECTION 5. That all structures now extending or being located within or
between said building lines herein established are hereby required to conform
to the lines herein established within five (5) years from the effective date of
this Ordinance.
SECTION 6. That the provisions of this Ordinance prohibiting the placing
of structures between the building lines herein established shall not apply to any
officer, agent, employee or other person duly authorized by the City of
Lubbock, when such work relates to utility extensions or street improvements,
PROVIDED this provision shall not be construed as authorizing any such persons
to enter upon private property lying between such lines until the same has been
dedicated t o public use or otherwise acquired for such purpose.
SECTION 7. The City Secretary is· hereby directed to cause publication
of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
