Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance - 0978-1950 - Providing Parallel Parking With 15 Minute Time Limit On Ave J - 03_02_195003-0.2-t9SC> ORDINANCE NO. 978 03-0.9 -ls>.SO AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PARALLEL PARKING, PARKING SPACE WITH FIFTEEN MINUTE TIME LIMITS FOR PARKING ON A VENUE J ON THE EAST SIDE BETWEEN THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH NINTH STREET AND THE NORTH LINE OF THE DRIVEWAY NORTH OF THE CENTF.AL FIRE STATION: ALSO ON NINTH STREET ON THE SOUTH SIDE FROM THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF A VENUE J AND THE ALLEY LYING IMMEDIATELY EAST OF THE POLICE STATIONJ PROVIDING FOR PAINTING THE CURBS TO INDICATE PARALLEL PARKING WITH FIFTEEN MINUrE TIME LIMITS; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH THIS DESCRIPl'IVE Ci\Pl'ION, TOOETHER WITH THE flENALTI CLAUSE AS AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 11 It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle on Avenue J on~he East side between the Southeast corner of its intersection with Ninth 8ireet and the North line of the driveJ19.7 immediately North of the Central Fire Station, unless such vehicle is parked parallel to the curb and within one f'oot of the curb and within the parking spaces herein provided for, and no vehicle shall be parked therein for a period of time exceeding fifteen minutes. I The Chief of' Police is authorized and directed to mark the curbs lying on the East side of Avenue J within the boundaries next above indicated , tor two eighteen-foot parking spaces, and three twenty-three foot parking spaces, and indicate the time limit of fifteen minutes parking b,y painting the curbs. SECTION 21 Hereafter, it shall be unlawful for any person to park fUJY vehicle on Ninth Street on the South side from the Southeast corner of Avenue J, and the alley ~ immediately East of the Police Station, unless such vehicle is parked I parallel to the curb and within one foot of the curb and within the parking spaces 1 herein provided for, and no vehicle shall be parked therein for a period of time 11 in excess of fifteen minutes. SECTION 3: Any person violating any provision of' this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in ~ sum not exceeding $100.00~ .. SECTION 4t The City Secretary is authorized a!1Q. directed to publish the descriptive caption of this Ordinance, together with the penalty clause, as an altel'Il8.tive method of publication, as provided by law.
