AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661 AND THE �II
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP QF THE CITY OF LUBB.OCK SO AS TO MAKE THE 'I,
FOLLOWING CHANGES: (1) ZONING C.ASE �408 - ESTABLISHING AN 4
OVER-ALL ZONING PATTERN OF THAT PORTION OF THE CITY �F LUB- �
BOCK BOUNDED BY 19TH STREET, MEMPHIS AVENUE, 3ZD STREET, AND �
INDIANA AVENUE; (2) ZONING CASE #412 - ESTABLy5HING AN QVER-ALL
ZONING PATTERN OF THAT PORTION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK BOUNDED,j
BY AUBURN STREET ON THE SOUTH, SANTA FE RAILR.OAD ON THE WEST, ��I
AVENUE H ON THE EAST, AND THE CITY LIMITS ON THE NORTH. ,
WHER�;AS, the proposed changes in Zoning Districts as hereinafter made �!
have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recom- '�
�
mendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission� and, il
after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed �I
changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, �;
WHEREAS, all notices have been given in compliance with Section 25 of
Qrdinance No. 661, as well as notices provided by Article lOl lf, Revised Civil
Statutes, as amended, and notice was duly published on February 8, 9, and 10,
1953 in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche, and the public hearing, according to
said notice, was held at 2:00 P. M. on February 26, 1953 in the City Commis-
sion Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time
_ ersons appeared in support of the proposals; and, after said hearing it was by
th.e City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended
in substantial compliance with the proposals; THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That Qrdinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE,
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
�1� Zoning Case #408 - Zoning Pattern No. 15 of the over-all pattern
of the Cityfi�r the area bounded by 19th Street, Mernphis Avenue, 32d
Street, and Indiana Avenue.
A. The following described property be changed from its present
zoning to the "A" Residential Zoning District: Lots �leven (11)
through Twenty (20�, Block Two (2�, Tyler Square Addition, Lots
Nineteen (19} and Twenty (20�, Block Qne (1�, D. C. Ross Addition.
B. The following described property be changed from its present
zoning to the "B" Residential Zoning District: The inclosed property
beginning at a point of intersection of the centerlines of Knoxville
Avenue and 21st Street; THENCE South along the centerline of Knox-
ville Avenue to the centerline �rojected of the alley in the Westwood
Drive Addition; THENCE West to the centerline of Memphis Avenue;
THENCE North to the centerline projected of the alley in Block One(1�
Murphy Place; THENCE East to the centerline of Louisville Avenue;
THENCE South to the centerline of 21st Street; THENCE East to the
POINT OF BEGINNING,
C. The following described property be changed from its present
zoning to the '�F" Business Zoning District: Lots Qne (1� through
Six (6), Block Qne (1), Murphy Place Addition.

D. The following described property be changed from its present
zoning to the "J" Industrial District: All the inclosed property
BEGINNING at a point in the South line of Section Eighty (80�, Block
A, 100 feet West of the West right-of-way line of Avenue H; THENCE
West to the centerline of Avenue K; THENCE North to the North line
of Baylor Street; THENCE meandering Northwest along the Northwest
right-of-way line of Baylor Street to its intersection with the center-
line of the alley in Block Three (3�, Rio Vista Addition; THENCE
meandering in a Northwesterly direction along the centerline of the
alley in Block Three (3}, Rio Vista Addition, to the Northwest corner
of Rio Vista Addition; THENCE Southwesterly along the boundary of
the Rio Vista Addition to the centerline of Avenue P; THENCE South
along the centerline of Avenue P to its intersection with the South line
of Section Eighty (80), Block A; THENCE West to the centerline of
Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way; THENCE North along the centerline
of Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way to a point 100 feet South of the South

From and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said tracts
above referred to shall be changed to the Zoni.ng Districts indicated, and the
Official Zoning Map is hereby amended in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
On motion of Commissioner Davis , seconded by Commis
sioner Carpenter , the foregoing Ordinance was passed on first
reading this 26th day of February, 1953, by the following vote:
