HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 8870-1985 - Ordinance Abandoning And Closing Portions Of A 20-Foot Alley In Woodland Park - 12/12/1985"' .. :13024 HW:da First Reading December 12, 1985 Agenda Item #27 Second Reading April 24, 1986 Agenda Item #7 ORDINANCE NO. 8870 ----- AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS Of A 20-FOOT ALLEY IN THE WOODLAND PARK ADDITION TO THE CITY Of LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED.IN THE BODY Of THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OffiCIAL MAPS Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public -interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use; Portions of a 20~foot alley located in the Woodland Park Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 56, Woodland Park Addition; THENCE S. 89°59'10" w. a distance of 20.00 feet; THENCE N. 00°00150" w. a distance of 135.00 feet; THENCE N. 89°59'10" E. a distance of 20.00 feet; THENCE S. 00°00'50" E. a distance of 135.00 feet to the POINT Of BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of Lubbock to indicate said abandoning and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. ...... .... -VDL 2156.
