AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF A 20-fOOT ALLEY IN THE
KING'S ROW ADDITION TO THE CITY Of LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OffiCIAL MAPS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO REflECT SAID
ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING fOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter
described are no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes and for public use;
NOW THEREfORE: .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE
and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes
and for public use;
Portions of a 20-foot alley located between lots 17 and 18, King's Row
Addition to the City of lubbock, lubbock County, Texas, being further
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the East line of Oxford Avenue which is the
Western most corner of lot 18, King's Row Addition to the City of
lubbock, lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE S. 69°58'40" E. along the Southwest line of lot 18, a distance
of 140.40 feet to a point;
THENCE S. 20°01'2011 W. a distance of 30.00 feet to a point;
THENCE N. 24°58'45" W. a distance of 14.14 feet to a point;
THENCE N. 69°58'40" W. along the Northeast line of lot 17, a distance
of 130.35 feet to a point in the East line of Oxford Avenue;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a
radius of 831.89 feet, a central angle of 01°22'38", tangent lengths
of 10.00 feet and a chord distance of 20.00 feet to the POINT Of
BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to mark the official maps of the City of lubbock to indicate said abandon-
ing and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its
final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase,
clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected
thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an
alternative method provided by law.
