HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 8854-1985 - Ordinance Cancelling Authority And Approval For Traffic Signals At 3Rd St. - 11/21/1985JWF:da First Reading November 21, 1985 Agenda Item #11 Second Reading December 12, 1985 Agenda Item #5 ORDINANCE NO. 8854 --------- AN ORDINANCE CANCELLING AUTHORITY AND APPROVAL fOR TRAFfiC SIGNALS AT 3RD STREET AND AMARILLO HIGHWAY, 9TH STREET AND TEXAS AVENUE, BROADWAY AND AVENUES, BROADWAY AND AVENUE T, AND EAST BROADWAY AND IDALOU ROAD AND AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF SAID TRAffiC SIGNALS AS OPERATIVE TRAffiC SIGNALS. WHEREAS, there is presently existing traffic signals at 3rd Street and Amarillo Highway, 9th Street and Texas Avenue, Broadway and Avenues, Broadway and Avenue T, and East Broadway and Idalou Road; and WHEREAS, after traffic engineering studies made by the Traffic Engineering Department of the City of Lubbock, the recommendation has been made to the City Council of the City of Lubbock by the Traffic Engineering Department that such traffic signals should be removed, with which recommend- ation the City Council of the City of Lubbock (after due consideration) now concurs; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT .ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the authorization and approval for traffic signals at 3rd Street and Amarillo Highway, 9th Street and Texas Avenue, Broadway and Avenue S, Broadway and Avenue T, and East Broadway and Idalou Road con- tained respectively in Subdivisions 150, 130, 106, 107, and 93 of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8190 of the City of Lubbock is hereby cancelled and expunged from said Ordinance, and said Ordinance 8190 of the City of Lubbock is hereby amended to affect such change; such Ordinance No. 8190 shall in all other matters remain the same. SECTION 2. THAT the City Manager or his delegate is hereby authorized to remove or cause to be removed the said traffic signals at 3rd Street and Amarillo Highway, 9th Street and Texas Avenue, Broadway and Avenues, Broadway and Avenue T, and East Broadway and Idalou Road as operative traffic signals as soon as practicable after the final passage of this Ordinance. / AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
