ORDINANCE NO. 8806 -------
AN ORDINANCE CANCELLING AUTHORITY AND APPROVAL FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT
AVENUE N AND MAIN STREET AND AVENUE J AND 15TH STREET AND AUTHORIZING THE
REMOVAL OF SAID TRAFFIC SIGNALS AS OPERATIVE TRAFFIC SIGNALS.
WHEREAS, there are presently existing traffic signals at Avenue N and
Main Street and Avenue J and 15th Street; and
WHEREAS, after traffic engineering studies made by the Traffic
Engineering Department of the City of Lubbock, the recommendation has been
made to the City Council of the City of Lubbock by the Traffic Engineering
Department that such traffic signals should be removed, with which recom-
mendation the City Council of the City of Lubbock (after due consideration)
now concurs; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the authorization and approval for traffic signals at
Avenue N and Main Street contained in Subdivision 115 of Section 1 of
Ordinance No. 8190 of the City of Lubbock and at Avenue J and 15th Street
contained in Subdivision 75 of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8190 of the City
of Lubbock are hereby cancelled and expunged from said Ordinance, and said
Ordinance 8190 of the City of Lubbock is hereby amended to affect such
changes; such Ordinance No. 8190 shall in all other matters remain the
same.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Manager or his delegate is hereby authorized
to remove or cause to be removed the said traffic signals at Avenue N and
Main Street and Avenue J and 15th Street as operative traffic signals as
soon as practicable after the final passage of this Ordinance.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
