WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use; Portions of a 20-foot alley located in Section 9, Block J-S, lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at a point which bears South a distanc.~:of 20~43 f;et and N. 89°59 1 E. a distance of 582.08 feet from t~ ~orthwe~ corner of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Block J-S, L~bbock ~nty,~exas; THENCE N. 89°59' E. a distance of 160.39 feeti :. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of lubbock to indicate said abandoning and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. ..
