Two Alleys Between 47Th & 48Th Streets & West Of Ave Q - 09/13/1984l! l September 13, 1984 i) Agenda Item #25 ;J"· First Reading f' HW:rm ORDINANCE NO. 8661 ----- AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS Of TWO ALLEYS LOCATED BETWEEN 47TH AND 48TH STREETS ANO WEST Of AVENUE QIN THE CITY Of LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY Of THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use; A 20-foot alley and a contiguous 15-foot alley located between 47th and 48th Streets and west of Avenue Qin the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at the original Northwest corner of Lot 2, Automotive Addition the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South a distance of 280.00 feet; THENCE West a distance of 20.00 feet; THENCE North a distance of 132.50 feet; THENCE West a distance of 84.70 feet; THENCE North a distance of 15.00 feet; THENCE East a distance of 84.70 feet; THENCE North a distance of 132.50 feet; THENCE East a distance of 20.00 feet to the POINT Of BEGINNING. • SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of Lubbock to indicate said abandoning and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of it final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
