ORDINANCE NO. 8609 -----
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A 15-fOOT ALLEY IN BLOCK 36,
SUBURBAN HOMES ADDITION TO THE CITY Of LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY Of THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK TO REFLECT
SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter
described are no longer needed far alley purposes and far public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest ta
close, vacate and abandon the same far alley purposes and far public use;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY Of LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions as hereinafter described shall
BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned far alley purpose
and far public use;
A 15-foot alley located in Block 36, Suburban Hames Addition ta the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a point, said point being 151 feet south of the northwest
earner of said Block 36;
THENCE east 660 feet ta a paint in the east line of aforesaid Block
36;
THENCE north 15 feet to a paint;
THENCE west 660 feet to a point in the west line of aforesaid Block
36;
THENCE South 15 feet to the POINT Of BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and
directed ta mark the official maps of the City of Lubbock ta indicate said
abandoning and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date
of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase,
clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected
thereby.

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and
directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
