HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 6882-1974 - Closing Portions Of Alley. - 04/11/1974JWF:sw ORDINANCE NO. 6882 ------""'"""""=----- AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE FOLLOWING POR- TIONS OF ALLEY: EAST-WEST ALLEY IN PARIS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DE- SCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINE TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE TH CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter de- scribed are no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and, WHEREAS~ the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon th·e same for alley purposes and to public use; and, NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the:' alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use; A portion of the East-West alley in the Paris Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County. Texas, a.ml' being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 7, Paris Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East a distance of 175. 00 feet to a point in the East line of Lot 7, Paris Addition: THENCE Northeasterly a distance of 14. 14 feet to a point in the East line of Lot 7. Paris Addition; THENCE South a distance of 25. 00 feet to a point in the North line of Lot 4, Paris Addition; THENCE East a distance of 185. 00 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Paris Addition; THENCE North a distance of 15. 00 feet to the PLACE OF BEG INNING. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official ma:wof the City of Lubbock to indicate that the alley describe in Section 1 hereof has been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. -+= SECTION 3. THAT should any Section, paragraph, sentence. phrase, clause or word of this Ordinan~e be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason. the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative m 'ethod provided by law.
