AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE FOLLOWING PORTIONS OF STREET AND
ALLEY: A PORTION OF 49TH STREET AND A PORTION OF ALLEY IN BLOCK 2 ~ SUBURBAN
HOMES ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK~ LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTI-
CULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER
TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND
ABANDONMENT OF THAT CERTAIN STREET AND ALLEY PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Street and Alley portions here-
inafter described are no longer needed for Street and Alley purposes and for
public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and 'abandon the same for Street and Alley purposes and to public
use; and NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Street and Alley portions as hereinafter described
shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for Street and
Alley purposes and for public use;
TRACT 1 -STREET CLOSING
A portion of 49th Street loc~ted in Block 2, Suburban Homes Addition to
the City of Lubbock and further described as Tract One as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears North a distance of 116.50 feet from the
Southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Suburban Homes Addition to the City
of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 16.31 feet to a point of curvature;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of 48°34'58", tangent lengths of
6.77 feet, and a chord distance of 12.34 feet to a point of reverse
curvature;
THENCE around a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of 50.00
feet, a central angle of 109°14'32", tangent lengths of 70.41 feet, and a
chord distance of 81.53 feet;
THENCE East a dist~nce of 108.36 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 3.50 feet to the Point of Beginning.
CONTAINS; 1664.92 square feet.
TRACT 2 -ALLEY CLOSING
A portion of an alley located in Block 2, Suburban Homes Addition to the
City of Lubbock be closed in the same ordinance as described as Tract Two
as follows:

BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Suburban Homes
Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 10.00 feet;
THENCE North a distance of 120.00 feet;
THENCE East a distance of 10.00 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 120.00 feet to the Point of Beginning.
CONTAINS: 1200 square feet.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the Street and
Alley described in Section 1 hereof have been closed and abandoned, showing
the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause
or word of this Ord;lnance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the C:ity Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to
cause publication of the descript:ive caption of this Ordinance as an alter-
native method provided by law.
