AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IV ENTITLED "SHOOTING GALLERIES, FIREARMS" BY PROVIDING THAT PERMITS ISSUED UNDER SAID ARTICLE SHALL BE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR AND TO BE RENEWED ANNUALLY; TO PROVIDE A PERMIT FEE OF $50; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock has determined that the change indicated below would be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Article IV of the Code of Ordinances, City of Lubbock, BE and is hereby amended by amending Section 26-26 to read as follows: "Sec. 26-26. Permits for shooting galleries -issued by Chief of Police. The Chief of Police may issue permits to bonafide persons desiring to es- tablish or maintain public or private shooting galleries, such permits shall be effective for one year and shall be renewed annually, unless revoked by the Chief of Police." SECTION 2. THAT Article IV of the Code of Ordinances, City of Lubbock, BE and is hereby amended by deleting the present Sec. 26-28 and in its deed adopting the following: nsec. 26-28. Permit -Fee. When an application is made under the pro- visions of this article for a permit or a renewal, the applicant shall pay to the Chief of Police a permit fee of $50." SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
