ORDINANCE NO. 8348 -----
AN ORDINANCE AaANDONING AND CLOSING A BLANKET UNDERGROUND UTILITY EASEMENT AND
TRANSFORMER PAD EASEMENT GRANTED TO THE LUBBOCK POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY, AN
ELECTRICAL PUBLIC UTILITY SYSTEM OWNED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK LOCATED IN TRACT
B, SEWELL ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS AND MORE PAR-
TICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER IN THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER
TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONING AND CLOSING;
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the blanket underground utility and
transformer pad easement as hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance
is no longer needed for public use and it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate, and abandon the same; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT blanket underground utility and transformer pad ease-
ment insofar as same was granted unto Lubbock Power and Light Company, an elec-
trical public utility system owned by the City of Lubbock, by plat of Tract B,
Sewell Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, recorded July
17, 1981 in volume 1749, Page 29 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas,
within the limits of said Tract B further described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at a 5/8" iron rod set in concrete (Point "D") which bears South
a distance of 1438.43 feet and N. 89°59' E. a distance of 32.00 feet from
the Northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Block J-S,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North 89°59' E. a distance of 340.00 feet to a 5/8" iron rod set
in concrete (Point "A");
THENCE South a distance of 575.00 feet to a 5/8" iron rod set in concrete
(Point "B");
THENCE South 89°59' W. a distance of 340.00 feet to a found 3/8" iron rod
(Point "C");
THENCE North a distance of 575.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
BE and the same is hereby CLOSED, VACATED AND ABANDONED insofar as said under-
ground utility and transformer pad easement pertains to said Lubbock Power and
Light Company.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer shall ma~k said abandoning and clos-

~ng on the official maps of the City, giving the number of the Ordinance, and
1ts date of final passage.

SECTION 3. tHAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause the publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an
alternative method of publication as provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
