And Closing Portion Of Alley In Blk 72, Roberts/Mcwhorter Addition. - 05/13/1982JWF:js ORDINANCE NO. 8325 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE FOLLOWING PORTION OF ALLEY: AN ALLEY IN BLOCK 72, ROBERTS AND McWHORTER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEY PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council find that the Alley portion hereinafter de- scr~bed are no longer needed for Alley purposes and for public use; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for Alley purposes and to public use; and NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Alley portion as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for Alley purposes and for public use: The alley located in Block 72, Roberts and McWhorter Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, and more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the South property line of Baylor Street, 102 feet East of its intersection with the West line of Block 72, Roberts and McWhorter Addition; THENCE South 51°151 East 338.3 feet; THENCE North 25.6 feet; THENCE North 51°15' West 297.3 feet; THENCE West 31.9 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the Alley described in Section 1 hereof has been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
