Zoning Ord. #7084 And Lubbock Map Changes: Zone Case #2358 - 03/25/1982SMH:mck ORDINANCE NO. 8304 ------- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 2358; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 25, BLOCK A, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM T TO M-1 ZONING DISTRICT; SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 1-5 OF THE CITY CODE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation which was received by the City Council and, after due consideration, the City Council finds that due to changed conditions, it would be expedient and in the interest of the public health, morals, and general welfare to make those proposed changes in zoning; and WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 26 of Ordinance No. 7084, as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche- Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner here- inafter set forth in the body pf this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: ZONE CASE NO~ 2358 SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoning Map Be and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: Change a tract of land out of Section 25, Block A, City of Lubbock, Lubboc County, Texas, from T to M-1 Zoning District. (Located north of Idalou Road and about 1750 feet southwest of Wood Avenue) This tract of land being further described as follows: BEING a 0.55 acre tract of land out of Section 25, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas, more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a found 3/8" iron rod in the Northerly R.O.W. line of u.s. Highway 62, for the SE and beginning corner of this tract, whence the NE corner of Section 25, Block A bears North 45°50' East, 1625.00 feet and North 0°25' West, 193.40 feet; THENCE South 45°50' West, along said R.O.W. line, 124.62 feet to a 3/8" iron rod set for the SW corner of this tract; THENCE North 4°40' West, 277.95 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set for flie NW corner of this tract; "' ... THENCE East, 112.00 feet to a found 3/8" iron rod for the NE corner of a 2.17 acre tract and the NE corner of this tr ct; THENCE South, 190.20 feet to the place of Field notes on a 2.62 acre tract of land out of S ction 25, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a 3/B" iron rod set in the Northerly Highway 62, for the Southeast corner of this trac being in the South line of a 2.17 acre tract, whe of Section 25, Block A bears North 45°50' East, 1 North 0°25' West, 193.40 feet; THENCE South 45°50' West at 275.38 feet pass the 2.17 acre tract and the Southeast corner of a 1.0 for a total distance of 437.49 feet to a point, t of this tract and the Southwest corner of a 1.0 R.o.w. line of u.s. , said iron rod also ce the Northeast corner 49.62 feet and outhwest corner of a acre tract, continuing e Southwest corner THENCE North 0°25' West, along the West line of a 1.0 acre tract, 430.90 feet to a point, the South-Northwest of this tract, and the Northwest corner of a 1.0 acre tract; THENCE North 89°35' East, 117.10 feet to a point or an inside corner of this tract, said point also being the Northeast c rner of a 1.0 acre tract; THENCE North, along the West line of a 2.17 a 3/8" iron rod, the North-Northwest corner Northwest corner of a 2.17 acre tract; ract, 150.00 feet to s tract, and the THENCE East, along the North line of a 2.17 acre ract, 175.00 feet to a 3/8" iron rod set for the Northeast corner of t is tract; THENCE South 4°40' East, 277.95 feet to the place of beginning.
