ORDINANCE NO. 5301
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PART~OF E. 4TH STREET•
ZENITH AVENUE AND BEECH AVENUE• AS MORE PARTI~...-ULARLY DESCRIBED
BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DIRECTING
THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOC
TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF SAID PARTS OF E. 4TH
STREET~ ZENITH AVENUE AND BEECH AVENUE AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS~ the City Council finds that certain portions of streets as herein.,.
after more particularly described are no longer needed for street purposes or for
public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon same for street purposes and to public use; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT certain parts of the streets as hereinafter described
shall be, and the same are hereby closedz vacated and abandoned for street purpos s
and for public use; said portions or tracts of land being more particularly desorib
as follows, to ... wit:
Tract I -Part of E. 4th Street West of Zenith Avenue
BEGINNING at a point in the South line of the Alderson Junior High
School tract of land said point being 30. 0 feet North and 62. 16 feet
West of the Southeast corner of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 2,
Block A11 Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West, along the South line of said School tract, 178. 08
feet to a point;
THENCE Southeasterly along a curve to the right, the center of said
curve being South 520. 0 feet from the beginning of this call, an arc
distance of 156.0 feet to a point of reverse curve;
THENCE Southeasterly along a curve to the left, the center of said
curve being North 17°11f20" East 15.0 feet from the beginning of
this call, an arc distance of 22. 30 feet to a point;
THENCE Northeasterly along a curve to the left, the center of said
curve being North 67°59%1011 West 524. 38 feet from the beginning of
this call, an arc distance of 15. 57 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

BEGINNING at a point in the South right of way line of the new
alignment of East 4th Street said point being 30.0 feet West and
80.86 feet South of the Northeast corner of the Northwest 1/4 of
Section 4~ Block 0, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE South 99. 14 feet to a point in the North line of a 15.0
foot alley;
THENCE East 9. 55 feet to a point;
THENCE Northeasterly along a curve to the right, the center of
said curve being South 74°34t12u East 264. 90 feet from the begin ..

curve;
THENCE Northeasterly along a curve to the left, the center of said

THENCE South 115. 97 feet to a point in the North right of way line
of the new alignment of E. 4th Street;
THENCE North 45°00t East 84.85 feet to a point in the West line of
said Lot 11, Brown Subdivision; ·
THENCE North 55.97 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

BEGINNING at a point in the West line of Lot 11, Brown Subdivision
of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 4, Block 0, Lubbock County, Texas
said point being 140.82 feet South of the Northwest corner of said
Lot 11;
