ORDINANCE NO. 5297 ----
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF
OXFORD AVENUE IN Lffi' A~ SAINT MARYS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
LUBBOC~ LUBBOCK COUNTY. TEXAS AS MORE PARTICULARLY DE-
SCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE: AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK
TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF SAID PORTION OF
OXFORD AVENUE AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a portion of Oxford Avenue,.
as hereinafter more particularly described is no longer needed for street
purposes or for public use; and
WHEREAS. the City Council finds it would be to the public interest
to close. vacate and abandon same for street purposes and to public use;
NOW THEREFORE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portion of Oxford Avenue between 22nd
Place and 24th Street situated within the limits of a plat of Lot A~ Saint
Mary1s Addition to the City of Lubbock. Lubbock County~ Texas. be and
the same is hereby closed .. vacated and abandoned for street purposes and
for public use; said portion being more particularly described and shown
on the plat of Lot A~ Saint Marys Addition to the City of Lubbock .. Lubbock
County~ Texas. as filed of record on the day of _.. 1967.,
to which reference may be madeā¢ SAVE AND EXCEPT~ however~ any and
all easements dedicated and retained in such plat.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and
directed to mark the official map ofthe City of Lubbock to indicate that'
the portion of Street as described in Section 1 hereof. has been closed and
abandoned~ showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final
passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
