AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF LUBBOCK
TEXAS, (BEING THE BUILDING CODE) BY AMENDING SECTION 5-2 THEREOF PROVIDING FOR
AMENDMENTS TO THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1979 EDITION, BY DELETING SECTION
JOl(b) PERTAINING TO INSULATION PERMITS OF SUCH 1979 EDITION AND BY DELETING
SUBSECTION 3O9-A PERTAINING TO THE BOND FOR INSULATION CONTRACTORS/INSTALLERS;
PROVIDING THE SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the City Council by the Building
Board for the City of Lubbock, Texas, that the following amendment be made to
the Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock has determined that it
is in the best interest of the City to amend such Code; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 5-2 of Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances
(being the Building Code) is amended by deleting the Amendment made to Section
3Ol(b) of Chapter 3 of the Uniform Code, 1979 Edition, pertaining to Insula-
tion Permits. Section 3Ol(b) of Chapter 3 of the Uniform Building Code, 1979
Edition, is expressly retained.
SECTION 2. THAT Section 5-2 of Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances
(being the Building Code) is amended by deleting Subsection 3O9-A, pertaining
to the Bond for Insulation Contractors/Installers.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for
any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method as provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
