Reinspection Fees From Inspec Dept. - 11/19/1981ORDINANCE NO. 8261 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. llA-82 AND SEC. 24-2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK WITH REGARD TO REINSPECTION FEES CHARGED BY THE BUILD- ING INSPECTION DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUB- LICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council recently updated the amounts of fees charged for City of Lubbock permits, licenses and other charges to keep such charges current with the costs of providing such services; and WHEREAS, the fees for reinspections by the City of Lubbock Building In- spection Department were not all included in such Ordinance; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION l. THAT the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lubbock be and is hereby amended in the following named sections or subsections to read as follows: Sec. llA-82. Fees -New Construction. The following fees shall be charged by the City and must be paid be- fore a permit for electrical work on all new construction is issued or work thereon is connected*: The permit fee shall be equal to two cents (2t) per square foot of floor space in the planned construction. Work commenced without first obtaining a permit shall be assessed at twice the normally required fee. When more than one inspection is required, a reinspection fee of fifteen ($15.00) dollars shall be charged. New warehouses shall pay the following fees: One to 20,000 square feet, $.02 per square foot for every square foot in excess of 20,000 but not in ex- cess of 50,000 the fee shall be $.015 per square foot plus four hundred ($400) dollars; for every square foot in excess of 50,000 the fee shall be $.005 per square foot plus seven hundred and seventy-one ($771) dollars. Exception. For new warehouses with no offices or restrooms and with 120-240 volt, single phase 60 amp maximum service the following fees shall be paid: 1-1000 square feet, two (2t) cents per square foot. 1001 square feet and up, $1.50 per outlet and $1.50 per fixture plus fifteen ($15.00) dollars. In all instances, a minimum fee of ($15.00) shall be charged for any permit. *Unless specific alternative arrangements have been made in writing with the Building Official and the Senior Electrical Inspector. Sec. 24-2. Amendments. Sec. 20.7. Schedule of permit fees. New construction, excepting repair or replacement shall pay a fee of $0.02 per square foot. #-... .. EXCEPTION: Shell buildings and warehouses shall pay a fee of $0.005 per square foot where minimal plumbing is installed. Additional permit and fee is required prior to completion of interior of shell buildings or warehouses of $0.02 per square foot if additional plumb- ing is required. However, up to six (6) fixtures may be installed for the minimum permit fee or at a rate of $2.00 per $1,000.00 eva- luation, whichever is greater. · SECTION 2. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder qf this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby., i SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alter- native method by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
