SECTION 8.1-9 SO AS TO ALLOW PARKING AREA; BY CHANGING SECTION

SPECIFIC USE PERMITS; BY CHANGING SECTION 15. 2 .. 2 GOVERNING HEIGH

DELETING SECTION 12.1-54 PERMITTING MUFFLER SHOPS.
WHEREAS., the City Council finds., after all notices have been given and
hearings held as provided by law., that it is in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Lubbock to make the change in the zoning law as hereinafter set
forth., NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 6. 1 ... 5 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 which reads
as follows:
"Section 6. 1 ... 5 Tool house and/ or construction shed to be used for constru ...
ction purposes only and field offices for the sale of real estate~ such uses to be
considered as a temporary permissive license only, and provided# further, that
the Building Inspector is hereby authorized to revoke such license and order the
removal of such tool house and/ or field office for the sale of real estate at any
time after ten days written notice to the personi, firmll or corporation owning,
using., operating out ofi1 or possessing or having an interest in such tool house
and/ or construction shed., and/ or field office for the sale of real e~tate. 11
BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
11Section 6. 1--5 Tool housesi1 trailer coaches., or construction sheds to be
used as living quarters for guards., or for offices or construction purposes only.,
or field offices for the sale of real estate., Sua)i uses shall be permitted on a
temporary basis only. The Building Inspectw is hereby authorized to approve
these uses and to order the removal of such tool houses, trailer coaches, con ...
struc'.)ion sheds., and/ or field offices at any time after ten days written/notice
to the person., firm., or corporation making use of same. Failure to comply
will CQ>nstitute a violation of this Ordinance. 11
SECTION 2. THAT Seciion 2 of Ordinance No. 1695 be amended by adding
a new section which reads as follows:

such as dancing., music,. beauty., mechanical,. trade, swimming or commer ...
cial schools).
SECTION 3. THAT Section 8. 1-3 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695, which
reads as follows:

BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
11Section 8. 1 ... 3 Convalescent homes., Orphan., Maternity., and "Old Age"
Homes. u
SECTION 4. THAT Section 8. 1-9 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 which
reads as follows:
"Section 8. 1 ... 9 Public parking are.a. 11
BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: ,. ....
11Section 8. 1M9 Parking area."
SECTION 5. THAT Section BC. 6 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 which
reads as follows:
"Section 8C. 6 Height Limit ... The maximum height of buildings shall be
35t provided., however~ that buildings may be erected to a height not exceed ...
ing 75t when the side and rear yards are increased an additional foot for each
foot such buildings exceed 35 feet in the front yard 1/2t set back for each 1
foot above 3 51 in height. Provided further that said lot is a minimum distance
of 175t from any boundary of the Medical District."
BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section sq. 6 Height Limit .. The maximum height of buildings., ordinarily.,
shall be 35 feet. However., buildings may be erected to a height of 75t when
the ordinarily required side and rear yard setbacks are increased one foot for
each foot that such buildings exceed a height of 35 feet and when the ordinaril.y
required front yard setback is increased one .. half foot for each foot that such
buildings exceed a height of 35 feet; provided further that all the development
lot is a minimum distance of 175t from any boundary of the Medical District. 11

SECTION 6. THAT Section 11 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 be amended
by adding a new section which ~eads as follows: ,.
"Section 11.1-20 Muffler Shop.·"
... SECTION 7. THAT Section 12.1-54 of Zoning Ordinance 1695 which
reads as follows:
"Section 12. 1-54 Muffler Shop. 11
BE and the same is hereby repealexl.,..
SECTION 8. THAT Section 12 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 be amended
by addin.g a new Section which reads as follows:
"Section 12. 1--54 Motorcycles Shop {includes sales, rentals., and services) u
SECTION 9. THAT Section 14A. 5 of Zoning Ordinance 1695 which reads
as follows:
"Section 14A. 5 A building permit shall be applied for and secured within
ten months from the time of granting of the SPECIFIC USE PERMIT provided,
however, that the City Council may authorize an extension of this time upon
recommendation by the City Planning and Zoning Commission. 11
BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows~
"Section 14A. 5 A building permit shall be applied for and secured for
within ten months after the effective date of the Specific Use Permit Zone
Change. 11
SECTION 10. THAT Section 15. 2-2 of Zoning Ordinance 1695 which reads
as follows:
\ "Section 15. 2-2 Height ... Str.uctures permitted above height; Penthouse or
roof structures for the housin.g of elevators, stairways., tanks., ventilation fans.,
or similar equipment required to operate and maintain the building., and fire or
parapet walls., skylights., towers., steeples., roof signs., flagpoles., chimneys.,
smokestacks., wireless masts., water tanks., silos., grain elevators, or similar
structures may be erected above the height limits herein prescribed, but no
penthouse or roof structure., or any space above the height limit shall be allowed
for the purpose of providing additional floor space."
BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
11$ection 15. 2-2 Height ... Structures permitted above height: Penthouse
or roof structures for the housing of elevators., stairways., tanks., ventilating
fans., or similar equipment required to operate and maintain the building,
and fire or parapet walls, skylights, towers, steeples, flagpoles, chimneys,

SECTION 11. THAT Section 16. 2 ... 3 of Zoning Ordinance No,. 1695 which
reads as follows:

lots. "
BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
