ORDINANCE NO. 400

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY 00111].IIISSION OF THE CITY OF LtrnBOCK,
TEXAS:
That hereafter all garage a.nd wash rack drains sha.11 discharge
into oonorete sand traps provided w1 th removable wood cover.
Concrete sand traps shall be built and operated in accordance
with attached plan and not smaller than the following dimensions:
Sand trap shall be 48" long over all and 28° high and 28''

wide and a partition wall run c .ro ssways through sand trap in the mid-
dle, dividing it into two sections, one for inlet, and the other sec-
tion tor outlet, partition wall to have 4" hole in top to allow we.-
ter to flow from inlet side of trap.
The removable top shall be so constructed that itWill be as
near water proof as possible on outlet side of trap. The inlet side
should be latticed so it will allow an easy flow for water and sand
into inlet side of sand trap. Top should be constructed so it can't
be reversed.
On sewer side of sand trap it shall be vented wi"ijx not less
than two-inch vent as close to sand trap as possible. Walls and
sides shall be made of concrete not less than 3" thick, and be of
a sand and gravel mixture of not less than 5 parts of sand and grav-
el to 1 part of cement.
The inside of sand trap should be water proofed. This may be
done by applying pure cement and water with a brush.
The Plumbing Inspector shall keep on file a drawing of sand
trap and shall furnish, upon request, a copy of drawing to anyone
applying therefor.
Any person Violating, or causing to be violated, any term or
provision of this Ordinance, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and,
upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not less than Ten
nollars or more than Two Hundred Dollars; and in addition thereto,
the City Commission may declare the license by any such person for-
feited and may revoke the same.
Because of the importance of preserving the public health
and safety, this measure is made an emergency ordinance, and shall
take effect from and after its passage, and it is so ordered.
