OF STREETS, iALLEYS, AND PUBLIC EASEMENTS IN A PART OF UNIVERSITY PINES ADDITION TO THE !CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THOSE CER- TAIN STREETS, ALLEYS, AND PUBLIC EASEMENTS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Streets, Alleys and Public Easements portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for such pur- poses and for public use; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for such purposes and to public use; and NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Streets, Alleys and Public Easements portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street, alley and public easement purposes and for public use: All public streets, alleys, and easements within the bounds of the following described property: BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 208, University Pines, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East a distance of 20.71 feet; THENCE North 15° W. a distance of 164.22 feet; THENCE N. 2go w. a distance of 120.00 feet; THENCE S. 50° W. a distance of 115.00 feet to a point of curvature; THENCE Southerly around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet; THENCE S. 50° E. a distance of 56.00 feet; THENCE Westerly around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a point of reverse curvature; THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of 612.55 feet, a central angle of 8°55'19", and a chord distance of g5.2g feet; THENCE s. 40° E. a distance of 57.41 feet; THENCE South a distance of 34.98 feet; THENCE East a distance of 274.58 feet to the Point of Beginning. .... SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the public streets, alleys and easements described in Section 1 hereof have been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alter- native method provided by law.
