HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 8048-1980 - Electric Light And Power System Revenue Fund. $995,059.2 - 05/08/1980ll ,, II ll I ::; _ ... _ ... --..... .... -,,.,..·~ ~ ~ ~f ·~ FORM L-2 ORDINANCE NO. -8048 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock finds it is necessary to appropriate certain specific funds out of bond funds for an approved project; NOW THEREFORE, BE IJ _ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: There is hereby appropriated out of the following described bond fund, to-wit: ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER SYSTEM REVENUE BOND FUND The sum $955,059.02 For the following purpose: For the co~struction contract which includes the erection, labor and mater1als on a 138 KV steel pole transmission line from Holly Avenue generating station to the Co-op substation. Motion carried: Mayor McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Henry, Councilmen Brown and Aderton and Councilwoman Baker voting Yea; none voting Nay. ~4) Consider a resolution accepting water system improvements in All Saints Addition, Tract 3. - ~(15) Resolution No. 862 ---- The motion was made by Councilman Aderton, seconded by Councilwoman Baker to pass Resolution No. 862 accepting the referenced improvements. Motion carried: Mayor McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Henry, Councilmen Brown and Aderton and Councilwoma Baker voting Yea; none voting Nay. Reduce~ retainage from 10% ~ 5% held under the contract between :I.!.~ Buck Construction Company and the City of Lubbock for the construction of .!! 138 KV transmission line. J. W. Buck Construction Company has the contract for the construction of the transmission line and has requested that the 10% retainage fee be reduced to 5%. This would leave the City with a retainage amount of $25,232.47 on the original contract and retainage amount of $5,439.75 on the remedial agreement approved June 18, 1981 (Resolution No. 838) until the project is finally accepted. The motion was made by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilwoman Baker to approve reducing the retainage to J. W. Buck Construction Company from 10% to 5% on the original contract. Motion carried: Mayor McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Henry, Councilmen Brown and·Aderton and Councilwoman Baker voting Yea; none voting Nay. (16} Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 1!. of ~ Code of Ordinances, adding Article IV, entitled "Operation of Wrecker and Wrecker Services." ("The Rick ChildersShow"} Ordinance No. 8203 --- Mr. Rick Childers, Administrative Assistant, apprised the Council that on July 2, 1981, staff members met with representatives from the industry (20 people representing 12 businesses) and apprised them of the proposed changes following · the discussion at the June 25, 1981 Work Session. All of those present voted, voluntarily, to accept the changes in general and in principle, and they were assured that a smooth implementation of the procedures would be accomplished, specifically: 8.
