Land Adjacent To And Abuts City Limits Of City Of Lubbock. - 03.27.1980G ORDINANCE NO. 8025 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AN AREA OF LAND TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, WHICH AREA rIS.I]ESCRIBED HEREIN AND IS ADJACENT TO AND ABUTS THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF *THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR CORRECTION OF THE CITY MAP TO INCLUDE �c}y THIS ADDITIONAL TERRITORY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. 1 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests y of the citizens of the City of Lubbock as well as the citizens of the area described hereinbelow, to annex such area to the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the area of land described herein, which abuts and is adjacent to the existing corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas, BE and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas. Such area is generally described as the area Northwest of the Idalou Highway and South of Ursuline Street and more speci- fically described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present city limits as established by City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 2533, said point being approximately 839 feet north and approximately 150 feet east of the southwest corner of Section 25, Block A; THENCE, north along the existing city limits line approximately 5101 feet to a point, said point being 660 feet north and 150 feet east of the southwest corner of Section 46, Block A; THENCE, east along a line 660 feet north of the center line of Ursuline Street approximately 5130 feet to a point, said point being 660 feet north of the southeast corner of Section 46, Block A; THENCE, south along the section line approximately 660 feet to the southeast corner of Section 46, Block A; THENCE, west 489 feet; THENCE, south 45°44' west approximately 6425 feet along the existing city limits line as established by City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 7991 to the point of beginning. Contains 307 acres more or less. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby directed to immediately correct the map of the City of Lubbock by adding thereto the additional terri- tory annexed by this ordinance, indicating on the map the date of annexation and the number of the Ordinance. The City Secretary -Treasurer and the City Engineer shall each keep in their respective offices an official map of the City of Lubbock showing the boundaries of the municipal corporation including this annexation. �} SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase ,.br word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage at second reading. AND IT IS SO ORDERED. Passed by City Council on first reading this 27thday of March , 1980.
