HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 6475-1972 - Charges & Rates For Local Exchange Telephone Service, SWB Telephone Co. - 09/28/1972ORDINANCE NO. 6475 -------- AN ORDlliANCE PRESCRIBING CERTAIN CHARGES AND RATES FOR LOCAL EXCHANGE TELEPHONE SERVICE FURNISHED BY SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF PRIOR RATE ORDINAN- CES; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF CHANGE IN CHARGES AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has appeared before the City Council of the City of Lubbock and has requested changes in various rates and charges for local exchange telephone service; and WHEREAS1 the City Council has considered the evidence submitted in support o such changes and has determined that the rates and charges set forth below consti- tute a fair return; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is hereby authoriz.ed to place in effect the following schedule of rates for local exchange telephone servi on its first billing date after final passage and the effective date of this Ordinance: Class of Service One Party Business Flat Rate Buscless Extension Station Flat ! I Basic Rate for initial rural service only. Southwestern Bell Telephone Company may withdraw rural service as facilities are made available to provide a better class of service, SECTION 2. THAT all Ordinances heretofore passed by the City of Lubbock establishing rates and charges for telephone service (except the Ordinance dated February 26, 1959, establishing a base rate area) are hereby repealed effective with the establishment of the rates authorized in Section l above. SECTION 3. THAT Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall give notice in writing to the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock of any proposed changes in telephone service charges for existing miscellaneous services not listed herein prior to instituting such changes. SECTION 4. THAT nothing contained in this Ordinance shall be construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner, the right and power of the City under the law to regulate the rates and charges of Southwestern Bell Telephon Company. SECTION 5. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publicatio of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. I AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
