ORDINANCE NO. 9056 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF TWO 10-FOOT ALLEYS LO- CATED IN SECTION 18, BLOCK A TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, _the City Council finds that the alley portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions hereinafter described as two tracts shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use; TRACT ONE BEGINNING at a point which bears North a distance of 2632.00 feet and West a distance of 1094.40 feet from the Southeast corner of Section 18, Block A, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East a distance of 1094.40 feet to a point; THENCE South a distance of 10.00 feet to a point; THENCE West a distance of 1094.40 feet to a point; THENCE North a distance of 10.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. TRACT TWO BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 1, Newton Addition to Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE West a distance of 438.17 feet to a point; THENCE North a distance of 10.00 feet to a point; THENCE East a distance of 438.17~feei to a point; .. , _., ·1-' ,, ~ • ':•_ THENCE South a distance of 10.00 fe.et to the POINT OF BEGINNING . • ,.... , .,,.•. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance and as an alternative method provided by law.
