ORDINANCE NO. 6810
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE FOLLOWING PORTION
OF STREET AND ALbEY: A PORTION OF NORTH AVENUE L BETWEEN
!BLOCKS 11 AND 12, COUNTRY CLUB ADDITION AND A PORTION OF ALLEY IN
BLOCK 111 COUNTRY CLUB ADDITION AND A PORTION OF LOT 13, BLOCK 11,
COUNTRY CLUB ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDIN
lANCE: DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF
IT' HE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF
!THAT CERTAIN ALLEY AND STREET: PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
!PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Street and Alley portion herein-
after described are no longer needed for street and alley purposes and for public
!Use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close,
!vacate and abandon · the same for street and alley purposes and to public use; and
~OW THEREFORE:
IBE IT ORDAINE~ BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the street and alley portions as hereinafter described
shall be and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street and
alley purposes and for public use;
Tract 1
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 12, Country
Club Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE East a distance of 20. 00 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 114. 00 feet;
THENCE South 45° West a distance of 14. 14 feet;
THENCE West a distance of 101 00 feet to the Southeast corner of
Lot 1, Block 12; ,
THENCE North along the East line of Lot 1 a distance of 124. 00
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
Tract 2
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 12, Block 11, Country
Club Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE South a distance of 124. 00 feet to the Southwest corner of
said Lot 12;
THENCE East a distance of 20. 18 feet;
THENCE South 30° 201 54" West a distance of 158. 71 feet to a point
in the East line of Lot 24, Block 12, Country Club Addition;
THENCE North along the East line of Lot 24, Block 12 a distance of
121. 95 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot 24;
THENCE East a distance of 40. 00 feet;
THENCE North a distance of 139. 00 feet;
THENCE East a distance of 20. 00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNIN •
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the street and alley
described in Section 1 hereof have been dosed and abandoned, showing the number
of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, claus
or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason,
the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to
V cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
