inafter made are to the benefit of the plblic health, safety and general
welfare and are in the best interest of the citizens of Lubbock; !Ui'
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CXXJ?Cilr OF THE CITY OF LUBBJCK:
SECnON 1. TBAT Ordinance No. 5057 BE and is hereby repealed.
sro.t'ION 2. TBAT section 24-86 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
LUbbock, Texas, is hereby arrended to read as follows:
•Sec. 24-86. Design;layout1plans.
The design, layout and plans for construction, reconstruction,
alteration or replacement of all sidewalks, curbs, drive1r1ays either
private or commercial, and street curbs and gutters shall confom
to and be constructed according to the design, layout, plans and
details shCMn and provided by the •standard Details for Construc-
tion of Sidewalks, Driveways, CUrbs and Gutters,• dated February
20, 1987, and including Plates 1, 2, 3, 3A, 4 and 5, which are
hereby adopted, copies of such being attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference as though set out completely in
detail. References in this article to the City's standard plans
and specifications or to specific Plates shall mean the version
dated February 20, 1987. Copies of which shall be kept in the
offices of the building official and city engineer.•
sro.t'ION 3. TBAT subsection 24-9l(d)(4) of the Code of Ordinances,
City of LUbbock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
• (4) In commercial areas, when ne1r1 sidewalks are constructed,
or existing side1r1alks are replaced, the elevation of
the side1r1alk on either side of any alley shall be in
accordance with the applicable drawing on the Plate en-
titled 'Typical Locations For Wheelchair Ramps'.•
sro.t'ION 4. TBAT the first paragraph of section 24-101 of the Code
of Ordimnces, City of Lubbock, Texas, is hereby arrended to read as
follows:
11sec. 24-101. Driveways into private property.
All driveways into private property shall be paved from the
street curbline to the property line. The design and construction
of such driveways shall be in accordance with this section and sec-
tion 24-86 of this Code. Driveways for access to all property
other than single-family residences must also have the approval of
the director of traffic engineering or his representative, to in-
sure that such driveway design complies as follOW'S:•
SEXJ.rION 5. THAT subsection 24-l0l(h) BE and is hereby repealed and
its nuniler reserved.
sml'ION 6. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected
thereby.
SECrION 7. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance
shall be deemed a misdeneanor punishable by a fine not to exceed two hun-
dred dollars as provided in Section 1-4 of the City Code.
SEXJ.rION 8. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
piblication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alterna-
tive method provided by law.
