ORDINANCE NO. 9237
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP
OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK MAKING THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 2269-L; A
ZONING CHANGE FROM AM SPECIFIC USE TO GO ZONING ON A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF
SECTION 14, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK, TEXAS; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING A SAV-
INGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning as hereinafter made have been
duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation
which was received by the City Council and, after due consideration, the
City Council finds that due to changed conditions, it would be expedient and
in the interest of the public health, safety and general welfare to make
those proposed changes in zoning; and
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend-
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well
as giving notices in compliance with Section 29-29 of the Code of Ordi-
nances, City of Lubbock, Texas, as well as notices provided by Section
211.007(c), Texas Local Government Code, and notice was duly published in
the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date
of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment,
and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City
Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, Lubbock, Texas, at which time
persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was
by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due
to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be
amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance
and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
ZONE CASE NO. 2269-L
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 70B4 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
A change of zoning from AM Specific Use to GO zoning district, under
provisions of Section 29-29 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Lubbock, on a tract of land out of Section 14, Block E-2, City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, located South of 84th Street between
Orlando Avenue and Memphis Avenue and being further described as fol-
lows:

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a 5.241 acre tract located in Section
14, Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a found 1/2" iron rod which bears S. 00°03'13" W. a dis-
tance of 1479.84 feet and S. 8g0 58'50" E. a distance of 605.00 feet
from the Northwest corner of Section 14, Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock
County,Texas;
THENCE N. 44°58'5011 W. a distance of 14.14 feet to a found 1/2" iron
rod;
THENCE N. 00°01'10" E. a distance of 100.22 feet to a found 1/211 iron
rod;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a
radius of g1o.6g feet, a central angle of 18°44'3011 , tangent lengths
of 150.2g feet, and a chord distance of 2g6.56 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
found at a point of compound curvature;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a
radius of 362~46 feet, a central angle of gso, tangent lengths of
3g5,56 feet, and a chord distance of 534.47 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
found at a point of tangency;
THENCE N. 24°58'50'' W. a distance of 6g.58 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
found at a point of curvature;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet;
THENCE N. 65°01'10" E. a distance of 62.70 feet to a 5/8" iron rod set
for a point of curvature;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 616.61 feet, a central angle of 25°, tangent lengths of
136.70 feet, and a chord distance of 266.g2 feet to a 5/8" iron rod
found at a point of tangency;
THENCE S. 8g0 58'50" E. a distance of 73.6g feet to a point of curva-
ture;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a 1/2" iron rod found at a
point of tangency;

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a 4.046 acre tract located in Section
14, Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a found 1/211 iron rod which bears S. 00°03'13" W. a dis-
tance of 841.84 feet and S. 89°58'50" E. a distance of 1534.46 feet
from the Northwest corner of Section 14, Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE N. 00°01'1011 E. a distance of 172.98 feet to a 1/211 iron rod
found at a point of curvature;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of 90°, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet;

rod;
THENCE S. 00°01'10" w. a distance of 177.98 feet to a found 1/2" iron

THENCE N. 89°58'50" W. a distance of 928.00 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance shall
be deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed One Thousand and
No/100 Dollars ($1,000.00} as provided in Section 29-31 of the Zoning Ordi-
nance of the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 3. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any rea-
son, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause pub-
lication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
