"t ~\.J X J "(}, N / l t \~ .JWF:pm - ORDINANCE NO. 6759 ~ ----~--u AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLa3ING THE FOLLOWING PORTIONS OF STREETS AND ALLEYS: A PORTION OF FIRST STREET {DESIGNATED HEREIN AS TRACT 11) IN THE VICINITY OF LOT 6, DORIS ADDITION; A PORTION OF AVENUE J (DESIGNATED HEREIN AS TRACT ITI) IN ACUFF HEIGHTS ADDITION; A PORTION OF ..STREET LYING BETWEEN DORIS ADDITION AND MULLINS ADDITION (DESIGNATED HEREIN AS TRACT IV}; A PORTION OF ALLEY LYING IM:MEDIATELY WEST OF LOT2 6 THROUGH 15 {INCLUSIVE) IN DORIS ADDITION (DESIGNATED HEREIN AS TRACT V); A PORTION OF ALLEY LYING IMMEDIATELY WEST OF LOTS 1 THROUGH 5 {INCLUSIVE) IN DORIS ADDITION (DESIGNATED HEREIN AS TRACT VI); AND A PORTION OF ALLEYS LYING TIVIMEDIATELY EAST AND ,;SOUTH OF LOT A; DORIS ADDITION AND STREET CUL DE SAC AT NORTH END OF AVENUE J ADJACENT AND ABUTTING THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SAID LOT A. DORIS ADDITION (DESIGNATED HEREIN AS TRACT VII), AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEYS AND STREETS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING ~OR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the portions of Streets and Alleys as hereinafter described are no longer needed for street purposes and alley purpose~ and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street and alley purposes and to public use, and NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase~ claus1 or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby autho:uized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
