AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OF ICIAL MAP
OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK MAKING THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE N . 2417-A;
A ZONING CHANGE FROM A-1 TO R-1 ZONING ON A TRACT OUT OF SECTION 29, BLOCK
A-K AND ON LOTS 1-18, BRUNKEN HILL ADDITION, LUBBOCK, TEXAS; PRO~IDING A
PENALTY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATIO .
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning as hereinafter mad have been
duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its rec mmendation
which was received by the City Council and, after due considerat"on, the
City Council finds that due to changed conditions, it would be e pedient and
in the interest of the public health, safety and general welfare to make
those proposed changes in zoning; and I

,,j WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a va id amend-
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied wi h, as well
11 as giving notices in compliance with Section 29-29 of the·Code o Ordi-

ll, nances, City of Lubbock, Texas, as well as notices provided by S ction
211.007(c), Texas Local Government Code, and notice was duly pub ished in
the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior o the date li of the pub 1 1 c hearing before the City Counci 1 on such proposed a endment,
11 and the public hearing according to said notke. was duly held in the City
1 Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, Lubbock, Texas, at wh"ch time
persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hea ing, it was
by the City Council determined that it would be in the public in erest, due
to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning ap be
amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this rdinance
and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
ZONE CASE NO. 2417-A
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zonin Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
A change of zoning from A-1 to R-1 zoning district, under rovisions
of Section 29-29 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of ubbock, on
a tract out of Section 29, Block A-K and on Lots 1-18, Bru ken Hill
Addition, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, located t 72nd
Street to 73rd Street and Genoa and being further describe as fol-
lows:
METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of an 8.712 acre tract of lan located in
Section 29, Block A-K, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, bei~g further
described as follows: I I
BEGINNING at a set 1/211 iron rod with cap which bears South a distance
of 2630.00 feet and West a distance of 655.50 feet from the Northeast
corner of Section 2g, Block A-K, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 664.65 feet to a railroad spike set for the
Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 00°00'53" E. a distance of 574.00 feet to a railroad spike
set for the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE East a distance of 664.50 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap set
for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South a distance of g3.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap set
for a point of curvature;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a set 1/2" iron rod with
cap;
THENCE South a distance of 56.00 feet to a set 1/2" iron rod with cap;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the right~ said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a 1/2" iron rod'with cap
set for a point of tangency;
THENCE South a distance of 210.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap set
for a point of curvature;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a set 1/211 iron rod with
cap;
THENCE South a distance of 64.00 feet to a set 1/2" iron rod with cap;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a
radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of goo, tangent lengths of 15.00
feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap
set for a point of tangency;
THENCE South a distance of g1.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordin~nce shall
be deemed a misdemeanor punis~able by a fine not to exceed One Thousand and
No/100 Dollars ($1,000.00) as provided in Section 2g-31 of the Zoning Ordi-
nance of the City of Lubbock.

SECTION 3. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, p~rase or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid f9r any rea-
son, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause pub-
lication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
