OF THAT CERTAIN STREET AND ALLEY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING II FOR PUBLICATION.

l! WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street and alley portions
hereinafter described are no longer needed for street and alley purposes and
for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the same for street and alley purposes and to
public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the street and alley portions as hereinafter
described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for
street and alley purposes and for public use:
DESCRIPTION
FIELD NOTE DESCRIPTION for the closing of North Boston Avenue
and a 20 feet alley, out of Tracts A, B, and C, Youth Center
Addition, a replat of Tract A, Hillside Addition No. 1 and Lots
7 through 10, Block 1 and a portion of Block 5, Hillside
Addition No. 1 and an unsubdivided tract of land out of Section
17, Block A, to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas and
being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a sucker rod, found in the North line of Rice
Street, for the beginning point of this description, whence a 1"
iron pipe, found at the original Southeast corner of Block 1,
Hillside Addition, bears North 89°33'2011 East, 180.00 feet;
THENCE South 89°33'2011 West, along the North line of Rice
Street, 20.15 feet to a 1" iron pipe, found for the P.C. of a
curve to the right;
THENCE Northwesterly, along the arc of said curve, the North
line of Rice Street, an arc distance of 18.86 feet to a set 1/211
iron rod, said curve has a radius of 20.82 feet, a central angle
of 51°54'29" and a chord that bears North 64°29'37 11 West, 18.22
feet;

THENCE Northwesterly, along the arc of a curve to the left, the
North line of Rice Street, an arc distance of 89.92 feet to a
set nail, said curve has a radius of 97.93 feet, a central angle
of 52°36'40" and a chord that bears North 64°50'47" West, 86.80
feet;
THENCE South 88°51'00" West, along the North line of Rice
Street, 32.50 feet to a sucker rod, found for the P.C. of a
curve to the left;
THENCE Northeasterly, along the arc of said curve, an arc
distance of 41.25 feet to a found 3/8" iron rod, said curve has
a radius of 19.96 feet, a central angle of 118°24'5911 and a
chord that bears North 29°38'09 11 East, 34.29 feet;
THENCE North 29°34'42" West, along the West line of North Boston
Avenue, 150.30 feet to a 1" iron pipe, found for the P.C. of a
curve to the right;
THENCE Northwesterly, along the arc of said curve, the West line
of North Boston Avenue, an arc distance of 125.97 feet to a
found 3/8" iron rod, said curve has a radius of 442.90 feet, a
central angle of 16°17'47" and a chord that bears North
21°25'49" West, 125.55 feet;
THENCE along the arc of a curve to the right, an arc distance of
249.84 feet to a set 1/2" iron rod, said curve has a radius of
50.00 feet, a central angle of 286°17'53" and a chord that bears
North 77°06'05" East, 59.97 feet;
THENCE Southeasterly, along the arc of a curve to the left, the
East line of North Boston Avenue, an arc distance of 108.54 feet
to a found 1" iron pipe, said curve has a radius of 382.93 feet,
a central angle of 16°14'24" and a chord that bears South
21°27'43 11 East, 108.17 feet;
THENCE South 29°30'50" East, along the East line of North Boston
Avenue, 249.11 feet to the P.C. of a curve to the left;
THENCE Northeasterly, along the arc of said curve, an arc
distance of 13.69 feet to a point, said curve has a radius of
5.20 feet, a central angle of 150°47'34" and a chord that bears
North 75°03'30" East, 10.06 feet;
THENCE North 6°22'10" West, along the West line of a 20 feet
alley, 310.95 feet to a point, for a corner of this description;
THENCE North 89°37'50" East, along the North line of an alley,
50.00 feet to a point, for a corner of this description;
THENCE South 45°22'10" East, 14.14 feet to a point, for a corner
of this description;

THENCE North 89°37'43" East, along the North line of a 20 feet
alley, 140.86 feet to a point, for a corner of this description;
THENCE South 0°14'3411 East, along the West line of Akron Avenue,
20.00 feet to a point, for a corner of this description;
THENCE South 89°30'41" West, along the South line of a 20 feet
alley, 180.81 feet to a point, for a corner of this description;
THENCE South 0°23'53" East, along the East line of a 20 feet
alley, 300.55 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
CONTAINING 0.70 acres
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the street
and alley described in Section 1 hereof have been closed and abandoned,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase,
clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for
any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an
alternative method provided by law.
