HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 6631-1973 - Annexing Southwest Ord. 6201, Survey 15, Blk E-2 - 04.26.1973f c ORDINANCE NO. 6631 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AN AREA OF LAND TO THE CITY OF LUBBOC z� WHICH AREA IS DESCRIBED HEREIN AND IS ADJACENT TO AND ABUT THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS; PROVIDING F01 CORRECTION OF CITY MAP TO INCLUDE THIS ADDITIONAL TERRITORY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be in the best inte of the citizens of the City of Lubbock and also the best interest of the citizens c the area described hereinbelow, to annex such area to the City of Lubbock; NC THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the area of land describe'- herein, which abuts and is adjacent to the existing corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas, BE and i hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock Texas. Such area is described as follows: BEGINNING atapoint in the present Southwest City liT-dts boundary as described in Ordinance No, 6201, said point being 2,790 feet South and 660 feet West of the Northeast corner of Survey 15, Block E--2, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE West a distance of 6,280 feet to a point which is 2,790 feet South and 660 feet West of the Northeast corner of Survey 26, Block E-2; THENCE North a distance of 2,130 feet to a point in the present City limits boundary as described in Ordinance No. 6201, said point being 660 feet South and 660 feet West of the I*brtheast corner of Survey 26, Block E-2; THENCE East along the present City li> As boundary as described by Ordinance No, 6201, a distance of 5,280 feet to an inside corner of the present City limits boundary as described by Ordinance No. 6201; THENCE South along the present City limits boundary as described by Ordinance No. 6201, a distance of 2,130 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING (Contains 258.18 acres more or less.) SECTION 2, THAT the City Engineer is hereby directed to immediately car rect the map of the City of Lubbock by adding thereto the additional territory annexed by this Ordinance, indicating on the map the date of annexation and the number of this Ordinance, The City Secretary --Treasurer and the City Enginee shall each keep in their respective offices an official map of the City of Lubbock showing the boundaries of the municipal corporation including this annexation. KJ EW SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary shall cause the publication of this Ordinance once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper regularly pub- lished in the City of Lubbock.
