I JWF:pr ORDINANCE NO. 6601 ------ AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THAT PORTION OF DATE A VENUE WHICH LIES SOUTH OF THE IN"TERSECTION OF DATE AVENUE AND EAST 14TH STREET IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK., LUBBOCK COUNTY., TEXAS., S MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGlliE R TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THE STREET AS AFORESAID; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, WHEREAS, the C»ty Council finds that the street portion hereinafter desuribe is no longer needed for street purposes and for public use; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and to public use; and, NOW HEREFORE: E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the street portion as hereinafter described shall BE and he same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for publi Field notes for a 75 foot street closure being a portion of Date Street East of Lot 1, Hill Addition, out of Section 3. Block 0, East Line and Red River Railroad Company Survey, Lubbock County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a 3/411 iron pipe set 1823. 6 feet North and 89-0 feet East of the Southwest corner of Section 3., Block 0, said pipe marks the Southeast corner of the intersection of Date Avenue and East 14th Street and the Southwest corner of Dickinson Subdivision bears North 75 feet; THENCE South 229. 95 feet to a 3/8 11 iron pipe; WBENCE North 47°16 1 West 96.84 feet to a 3/811 iron rod; THENCE South 54° 35' West 4. 76 feet to a 3/811 iron rod; THENCE North 166.98 feet to a 3 /8 11 iron rod; THENCE East 75. 0 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. Containing 0. 336 acres of land more or less. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to rna k e official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the street described in Sectio 1 ereof has been closed and abandoned1 showing the number of this Ordinance and th ate of its final passage. THAT should any section, paragraph# sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
