' V.DL ~C~9 PAGE 255 ORDINANCE NO. _g_31_6_._, __ - AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF 84TH STREET IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONING AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for street purposes and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. ·""fHAT the street portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are ·nereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use; A portion of 84th Street located in Section 14, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, be~_ng further described as fo 11 ows: BEGINNING at a point of curvature in the South right-of-way line of 84th Street which bears S. 8g•5g'40" W. a distance of 532.28 feet and s. oo·oo'20" E. a distance of 654.82 feet from the Northeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 14, Block E-2, lubbock County, Texas; THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of go•, tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet; THENCE N. 8g•58'50" W. a distance of 56.00 feet; THENCE Northwesterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of go•, tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet; THENCE S. 8g•58'50" E. a distance of 86.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of lubbock to indicate said abandoning and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. .. . .. .
