ORDINANCE NO. 9378
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK MAKING THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 2118-P; A ZON-
ING CHANGE FROM R-1 SPECIFIC USE TO R-1 & R-2 ZONING ON TRACTS OUT OF SECTION
15, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK, TEXAS; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning as hereinafter made have been
duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation
which was received by the City Council and, after due consideration, the City
Council finds that due to changed conditions, it would be expedient and in the
interest of the public health, safety and general welfare to make those pro-
posed changes in zoning; and
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giv-
ing notices in compliance with Section 29-29 of the Code of Ordinances, City
of Lubbock, Texas, as well as notices provided by Section 211.007(c), Texas
Local Government Code, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Avalanche-
Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing
before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing
according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Chamber of the
Municipal Building, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support
of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council deter-
mined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that
the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter
set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been intro-
duced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
ZONE CASE NO. 2118-P
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
A change of zoning from R-1 Specific Use to R-1 & R-2 zoning district
under provisions of Section 29-29 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Lubbock, on tracts out of Section 15, Block E-2, City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, .Texas, located Northeast of 98th and Slide Road and
being further described as follows:
R-1 SPECIFIC USE TO R-1
METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a tract of land out of Section 15,
Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas and being further de-
scribed as follows:
BEGINNING at a point from whence the Southwest corner of Section
15 bears 89°58 1 15" W., a distance of 1382.49 feet;
THENCE N. 00°01'45" E. a distance of 427.30 feet;
THENCE N. 17°45' E. a distance of 527.06 feet;
THENCE N. 24°07'03 11 W. a distance of 14.89 feet;
THENCE N. 66° W. a distance of 371.80 feet;
THENCE N. 78° W. a distance of 191.50 feet;
THENCE N. 12° E., along the West line of Lot 439, Lakeridge Coun-
try Club Estates, a distance of 167.95 feet to a point in the
centerline of 94th Street;
THENCE N. 75°30' W. a distance of 62.48 feet;
THENCE Westerly around a 553.22 feet radius curve to the left a
distance of 101.38 feet;
THENCE Westerly around a 2288.60 feet radius curve to the left a
distance of 410.42 feet;
THENCE Westerly around a 1044.66 feet radius curve to the right a
distance of 114.87 feet;
THENCE N. 89°58 1 3011 W. a distance of 362.67 feet to point in the
centerline of Slide Road;
THENCE S. 00°01'3011 W. a distance of 440.00 feet;
THENCE East a distance of 110.00 feet;
THENCE S. 82°30' E. a distance of 310.00 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 175.00 feet;
THENCE Easterly around a 618.39 feet radius curve to the left a
distance of 55.00 feet;

THENCE s. 89°58 1 30 11 E. a distance of 400.00 feet;
THENCE S. 00°01 1 45 11 E. a distance of 632.07 feet;
THENCE S. 89°58 1 15 11 W. a distance of 510.00 feet to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING.
R-1 SPECIFIC USE TO R-2
METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a tract of land out of Section 15,
Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas and being further de-
scribed as follows:
BEGINNING at a point from whence the Southwest corner of Section
15 bears S. 00°01'30 11 W. a distance of 875.81 feet;
THENCE East a distance of 110.00 feet;
THENCE S. 82°30' E. a distance of 310.00 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 175.00 feet;
THENCE Westerly around a 618.39 feet radius curve to the right a
distance of 150.00 feet;
THENCE Westerly around a 618.39 feet radius curve to the left a
distance of 204.66 feet;
THENCE N. 89°58'3011 W. a distance of 70.00 feet to a point in the
centerline of Slide Road;
THENCE N. 00°01 1 30 11 E. a distance of 150.00 feet to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance shall
be deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed One Thousand and
No/100 Dollars ($1,000.00) as provided in Section 29-31 of the Zoning Ordi-
nance of the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 3. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
· of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby .

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publi-
cation of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method
provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
